A choice of thresholds is available, including a low threshold option – and the doors are strong and robust, spanning up to 7 panes wide and up to 2.5 metres high.

As you’d expect, Framexpress aluminium bifold doors have been fully tested to meet the exacting security standards of PAS24:2022 and Secured By Design – making them compliant with Document Q for UK Building Regulations, too.

Despite their 122mm slim profile, Visofold 1000 bi-folding doors will withstand the worst of the British weather, having been weather tested to BS6375 Part 1: 2009.

Polyamide thermal breaks mean the doors are energy efficient, too - achieving U-Values as low as 1.4 W/m²K (1.0 W/m²K centre pane).

The aluminium bifold system has 100kg maximum weight per folding door, a fixed maximum height of 2500mm and a fixed minimum width of 1200mm per sash.

The standard roller and top guide for the Visofold 1000 not only provide a smooth operating glide action when opening and closing the bifold doors, but they are also PAS24:2022 Security approved. This helps to ensure your aluminium bifold doors easily meet all design, performance and enhanced security standards for your customers’ peace of mind.

The strict guidelines of UK Building Regulations Document Q are also met by Framexpress aluminium bifold doors.

To help achieve this, each set of aluminium bifold doors features multipoint locking, robust handles and shoot bolts at the top and bottom as well as central locking points. A slimline locking shootbolt gearbox is built in, together with a domestic-style lift up handle and adjustable one-piece keep.

Enhanced hardware

There are several colour choices for handles and matching D-rings. Choose from white, black, anthracite grey, chrome or satin finishes to complement your doors.

Trickle vents have a head section that also acts as a weather bar at the bead of the doors, deflecting rainwater away, and are coloured to match the doors for a discreet appearance.

Magnetic latches are also fitted to the sashes, holding the doors in place in the event of strong or gusting winds whilst open.

Easy to fit and operate

Framexpress chose to manufacture the Smart Visofold 1000 bi-folding door system thanks to its popularity with installers. It comes as a complete set and is widely considered to be easy to fit in comparison to other bifold systems. It’s supplied with pre-gasketed ‘Quick-glaze’ beads, saving time on site. Concealed vents are also available, resulting in a sleek finish.

Once fitted, your customers will also be delighted with their new aluminium bifolds. In addition to slim sightlines and vast expanses of glass lending a design flair to their home, the doors themselves are simple to operate. The enhanced rolling mechanism ensures the doors glide smoothly along their track, whether they choose to have them partially or fully open.
